Lucky St. Pat
Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.
The day commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.
Very popular also is to look for leprechauns around this date and some even put coins out to trap those little creatures. The point of it all is to have them take you to their pot of gold hidden at the end of the rainbow.
This is the time of the calendar year in which Mardi Gras has passed and lent, 40 days of resolution and reflection for the Catholic religion, takes over. A respite from that contrition is St. Patrick’s day!
Kidnapped when young, this Saint LUCKILY escaped the Irish pirates that took him and dedicated his life to the church.
To celebrate him and the blessings and the luck, people enjoy a little bit of lore and a little bit of spirits.
Here are 17 cocktails specially designed for St. Patrick’s Day. You can also prepare a traditional corned beef served with cabbage and invite your neighbors and friends to take a break from the solemn lent and give thanks.
Have a fun St. Patty’s day and don’t forget to decorate your table with coins and shamrocks, you never know who will pop in!
