Taking back control

Sitting at a coffee shop at the airport was a woman that looked very stressed. And we are all stressed so to be noticeable something had to be happening.

Conversation develops and she is struggling with a way to tell her boss that she must be remunerated for her worth.

She had made some comparisons with other men and women in her situation and given what she sacrifices being there for the company, traveling constantly and missing out on things that were important to her.

She had resolved to tell her boss: “you need to give me this raise”.

But that would give the boss control and the option to decide her worth.

When you tell someone they need to do something, the decision of doing it or not is up to them.

It was then that in that same coffee shop an alternative was presented.

You are going to decide your future despite if someone else’s choices.

Do not say “you need to do this or that”, say “I have decided to increase my revenue, I can continue to work here, which I really like, or I can get what I am worth at this other place where I have an offer from”

Once you decide to take the reigns of your outcomes, no matter what road you take you will get to that destination and…
