5 tips to have a successful kids party indoors

The weather outside is frightful and you have an anxious birthday boy or girl looking for some fun on this special day? Don’t fret, there are more choices than visiting a dirty pizza parlor.

Tip 1: Take into consideration the age of your child, are him and his friends comfortable with a sleep over? Do they do well with watching movies or do they need lots of activity? If they do well with sleepovers then camping is a great idea. The younger the child the less children he or she should have over to the party.

Tip 2: Pick a theme. This always pays off when trying to create activities and order in an otherwise chaotic situation. If its girls and camping, opt for glamping, these cute tents are amazing and can be reusable or given as gifts or party favors.

Tip 3: Consider your child’s preferences, if glamping, then provide lots of fluff, blankets, pillows, sweets, a movie and popcorn. A popcorn machine is not expensive and so incredibly cute for the party. If it is a native american camping party, then there is always amazing crafts that the kids can do to bring into their tee pees. Making bead necklaces and tie up pillows are sure to bring fun to the party.

Tip4: Think about where the party will happen, if you have an area in the basement or attic, or an open space in the living room, that is a great area for the children to “camp in”. Let them do the set up with your guidance, just as if they had just arrived to the site.

Tip 5: Other alternatives, if a sleepover, or having a day camp party at the house is not possible then look into hosting it at grandma’s house or renting a gym for a couple hours. You will not have the sleep over experience but the stories told sitting in a circle while sharing food and singing happy birthday will forever live in your child’s heart.
